Pets As Therapy will benefit to the tune of £2,888.26, which was collected during the hugely successful celebrations staged on campus on 6 July.

Rachel Robinson, a member of the University’s Engineering department and a PAT volunteer, said: “A big thank you not only for your votes to be the nominated Staff Festival charity 2018 but for the generous support.

“We would like to thank everyone who came to say hello to the PAT dogs – it was a very warm day but we loved meeting you all. Remember the PAT dogs are here for you, so don’t be shy in asking for a PAT session.”

Free pet therapy sessions run between 12.30 and 1.30pm in the University Union most Thursdays. Visit the LUU website to stay updated.

All breeds of cats and dogs can become part of a PAT team. Visit the PAT website if you’re interested in volunteering with your pet.

Thousands of staff, family and friends enjoyed a packed programme of events at the Staff Festival.
