New Information Protection Policy published

The University’s new Information Protection Policy has been published.

The Policy has been renewed to meet the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other new legislation, and in order to align requirements more closely with the University’s cyber security strategy.

The Policy is hyperlinked to guidance and other sources of information that underpin these requirements.

At the same time, the Information Security Essentials training course is being replaced on 24 May with a version that is GDPR compliant.

If you have already taken this course, you will not have to take the new training until the date of your annual renewal. However, if you choose to take it again, you will remain up to date with this training requirement for a further 12 months.

You will be able to access the course via your Minerva login.

The Information Security Advanced training course, which only needs to be taken once every three years, is also being updated for the content to be made GDPR compliant.
