It’s Great up North!
Public engagement opportunities are being made available during the Great Exhibition of the North.
The showcase event is being staged at the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle from 22 June to 9 September 2018.
A free, summer-long celebration of the North of Englands pioneering spirit, the countrys biggest event in 2018 will pack a programme of amazing exhibits, live performances, displays of innovation, new artworks and unforgettable experiences into 80 days.
The museum anticipates welcoming 5,000 visitors through its doors every day during the exhibition.
Dr Alexa Ruppertsberg, Head of Public Engagement (PE) with Research at Leeds, said: Its a great chance for public engagement and demystifying research, as well as inspiring the next generation of thinkers.
You could be one of several researchers in the space during this period, set up in their temporary exhibition hall, and talking about your work, engaging with a younger audience.
The museum is offering to cover reasonable travel costs and, if you need to cover some material costs, give us a shout and well see what we can do.
Contact the PE team if you are interested in staging an event at the exhibition.
