University fair to tackle the digital skills gap
‘Tackling the digital skills gap’ will be the theme of a special event taking place at the University as part of Leeds Digital Festival (LDF).
Individuals, teams and groups are invited to participate in the University of Leeds Fair in Parkinson Court on 23 April.
Running between noon and 5pm, the event will involve stands from the Digital Education Service, Lifelong Learning Centre, Careers Service, Leeds University Business School and Nexus. Join us to find out about the digital skills gap, how it affects employability and how the University interacts with the community to offer solutions via a range of opportunities.

Professor Neil Morris, Director of Digital Learning, who is coordinating the University’s partnership with the LDF, said: “We would like to showcase more of the University’s activity in this area at this event, so please contact John Finnegan to discuss your involvement.”
The University is staging 15 events as part of LDF, which runs from 16-27 April. Full details are available on the Festival website.
In addition, a number of our colleagues are participating in events organised by other organisations.
The University is delighted to be supporting the Festival.
LDF is a non-profit organisation supported by the digital community of Leeds, Leeds City Council and TechNorth – the Government’s initiative to promote and support digital entrepreneurship.
Our ambition in partnering with the Festival is to encourage staff and students to engage with businesses and community activities. We also value the opportunity to develop partnerships across sectors to shape and advance digital developments in research and student education.
Organisers will be using the Twitter hashtag #leedsdigi18 to increase the reach of activities during the Festival. Also see @LeedsDigiFest, @UniversityLeeds and @uoldigital for updates from University events.
