Emeritus Professor Michael Hillas
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death of Emeritus Professor Michael Hillas, former Professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy.
Professor Hillas gained both his BSc (1953) and PhD (1958) at Leeds before going to Harwell for three years with the distinction of holding fellowship. He returned to the University in 1959 as a lecturer, was promoted to a Readership in 1969 and to a Personal Chair in Physics in 1990. He retired in 1997.
The funeral service will be held at 12.20pm on Friday 22 December, at Rawdon Crematorium, Leeds Road, Rawdon, LS19 6JP.
