Emeritus Professor Robin Basker

Colleagues will be sorry to hear of the death of Emeritus Professor Robin Basker OBE, former Dean of the Dental School.

Robin graduated from the University of London in 1961 and, following a short period in general dental practice, and as Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, he was appointed to the recently established Chair in Dental Prosthetics at Leeds in 1978.  He served as Dean of the Dental School between 1985 and 1990.  Robin retired in 2000 and, in 2001, he was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for service to dental education.

The funeral service will be held at 1.30pm on Monday 20 November at West Berkshire Crematorium, Bath Road, Thatcham, RG19 4LD, on which day the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast in Robin’s memory.
