Quarry Hill (near West Yorkshire Playhouse) will be pedestrianised between 12-8pm on 27 October to celebrate the hard work, collaboration, creativity and passion that has created the bid.

It is an opportunity to meet some of the people creating our culture every day, sample some of the finest food and drink the city has to offer, and have a look at the city’s greatest cultural venues.

The event is free and everyone is invited. Outdoor stages, pop-up street performances and activity marquees will make sure that the bid receives a send-off to remember.

Some of the activities include family-friendly African drumming workshops by Leeds College of Music and theatre tours by West Yorkshire Playhouse.

After party
From 8-10pm, the main stage as well as the food and drink arena will remain open and free to enter with a headline set from Back 2 Basics, the godfather of the legendary Leeds dance scene, followed by a Funk & Soul set from Eric Speak of The Dig! Family.
