The Cheltenham Science Festival is a six-day celebration of science, jam-packed with thought-provoking discussions, energetic schools shows, hands-on workshops, mind-blowing performances and interactive exhibitions.

Submissions with fresh ideas are particularly welcome to create a varied and engaging programme covering a wide range of topics an themes. The team are keen to trial new format and inventive ways of exploring science, and to attract audiences who would not normally consider attending a science festival.

Individuals, groups or organisations can take part in events, use the interactive hands-on spaces or perform an activity in the town centre.

The deadlines for submissions are:

  • schools programme - midday Monday 9 October
  • main programme events (including adult and family events) - midday Monday 6 November
  • interactive exhibits and town centre activities - midday Monday 20 November.

In 2017, the programme consisted of over 150 public events, 50 school events and a range of hands-on drop in spaces. They issued over 40,000 tickets, saw over 25,000 visits to free drop in spaces, and had over 7000 visits to free activities in the town centre.

You can find more information about the Festival, areas of the programme and how to apply on the Cheltenham Science Festival webpages.
