Fieldwork and Drones Health and Safety Protocols Consultation

The University Health and Safety Protocols on Fieldwork and Drones have been updated, based on staff feedback, and are out for consultation until mid September.

The Fieldwork Protocol covers any relevant activity carried out by staff or students for the purpose of teaching or research as a member of the University of Leeds.

Examples included are archaeological digs, environment and biological collections work/surveys, social surveys and interviews, as well as short organised trips for taught students to public sites (e.g. the British Library, York Minster, Malham Cove etc.)

The Drones Protocol covers drones being flown on, inside or over University premises and drones flown off University premises (both in the UK and overseas) for University work, study or research.

Please feedback on the consultation documents by Monday 18 September 2017 (Fieldwork) / Tuesday 19 September 2017 (Drones).
