Ongoing works from Monday 7 August

Minimum local disruption and walking diversions around campus are to be expected. Some areas may be affected by digging noise.

Engie, the contractor employed by the University and NHS Trust to fit out the Generating Station Complex (GSC), will be digging trial holes along the path of the new cable routes on campus to establish ground conditions. 

The trial hole works will start on Monday across a four-week period and each hole will be dug and reinstated within two days.

Mon 7 Aug Trial hole 01 - On the grass outside LC Miall
Mon 7 Aug Trial hole 02 - On the grass outside Storm Jameson Court East
Mon 7 Aug Trial hole 03 - On the grass outside Dobree House
Tues 8 Aug Trial hole 04 - Roger Stevens opposite University Postal services
Wed 9 Aug Trial hole 05 - Michael Sadler side entrance. This affects disabled access into Michael Sadler so disabled users will need to use the Baines Wing main entrance to access the building. 
Thurs 10 Aug Trial hole 06 - Beech Grove Plaza bike rack
Fri 11 Aug Trial hole 07 - Back of Michael Sadler
Sat 12 Aug Trial hole 08 - Single carriage way road behind The Edge. There will be no access to the Postal Unit, Roger Stevens, TV court yard, The Faculty of Biological Science stores or gas bottle facility and Sports Hall 1 roller shutter.
Mon 14 Aug Trial hole 10 - Back of FAHACs
Tues 15 Aug Trial hole 11 - Back of FAHACs on the St George's Fields path. Unfortunately, there will be no through-route across St George's Fields to University Road. 
Fri 18 Aug Trial hole 14 - Back of Chemical & Process of Engineering
Mon 21 Aug Trial hole 15 - Back of Civil Engineering
Wed 29 Aug Trial hole 12 - Lower Seminary Street above the steps
Thurs 30 Aug Trial hole 13 - Seminary Street opposite Brown zone car park
Tues 31 Aug Trial hole 16 - Outside Cafe on Mount Preston Street.
