Staff Festival 2017

The Staff Festival takes place this Friday (30 June). Please come along with colleagues, family and friends to enjoy some of the great activities on offer.

The theme of the Festival is World Carnivals and there will be a fantastic selection of music and events on offer in celebration of the cultural diversity of the carnival theme.

The Vice-Chancellor will formally open the Festival at 3pm then events will begin.

We have musical contributions from the Pantasy Steel Band, Honey Drum Samba Band, and the Leeds University Choir amongst others, along with a Samba workshop.

There will also be a ferris wheel, dodgems, fairground games, a miniature steam train and a wide range of food and drink.

The full programme can be found on the Staff Festival website.

We also have some events taking place during the week of the Festival this year. The University’s ‘Get out, Get Active’ team are running campus art trail walks concluding with a picnic (bring along your lunch). There is also an opportunity to gain an insight into the University’s Galleries and Special Collections

Your manager has been asked to make sure that staff have the opportunity to take part in at least some of the Festival activities, so ask him or her if you have any queries about when you can attend.

You will also be able to contribute to our University of the Year campaign, #ToBeLeeds at the event.

Finally, the best photograph of the Festival will win a Polaroid compact camera. Upload your entries to Twitter or Instagram using #StaffFest17 or send them by email to the Staff Festival team.
