Scores of finalists from both the School of Design and the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies have been busy putting the finishing touches to the degree exhibitions, which are open to the public.

The Fine Art BA and MA students’ show, So What of the Future, is in the School’s new home in University Road and is open daily from 11am-6pm until 23 June. Visitors will be able to take in a broad range of art practice, including film, painting, print, installation, sculpture and textiles.

Their title reflects a wider context of social and political change and uncertainty, as well as the personal progression of the students as they prepare to graduate.

The School of Design show is in Clothworkers’ Central building, also in University Road. Called Alchemy, it is open from 10am-5pm until Friday 23 June.

Taking as its theme the seemingly magical process of transformation, creation or combination – most famously the tradition of attempting to transform base metals into gold – it features work by finalists on the BA (Hons) courses in Fashion Marketing, Art and Design, Textile Design, Fashion Design and Graphic & Communication Design.
