Temporary closure of Vernon Road
Vernon Road, which runs alongside the Nexus construction site on campus, will be closed from Monday 23 October to Monday 4 December, affecting access to the multi-storey car park and HGV deliveries.
The closure will mean that:
- there will be no vehicular access to the multi-storey carpark from Woodhouse Lane
- coming onto campus from north of the city will involve taking a slightly longer route via Calverley Street and Willow Terrace, over the Inner Ring Road bridge
- access for HGV vehicles heavier than the 7.5 ton limit for crossing the weak bridge over the Inner Ring Road to enter Willow Terrace will be affected
- from 4pm each day an alternative route out of the car park via the EC Stoner Building underpass and underneath the Physics Deck will be opened to allow traffic to exit north onto Woodhouse Lane.
Pedestrian access will remain open.

The closure is to allow the district heating main to be extended to the new Nexus building.
