M&S Company Archive events
A lot of exciting events are taking place at the M&S Company Archive on campus, including a special exhibition and a night celebrating the 1950s.
The Archive is currently celebrating five years on campus, and is marking the occasion with a temporary exhibition. This charts the development of the Archive, from its beginnings in London at the time of the companys 100th birthday in 1984, to its relocation to Leeds, the birthplace of Marks and Spencer, in 2012.
More information on this exhibition can be found on the Marks in Time website.
The next event in the On Your Marks Networking Series is taking place on Thursday 27 April, entitled 'Digital disruption and the need to evolve.'
This event will look at how an organisation with over 130 years heritage implement a digital strategy, manage change and develop and attract digital talent. A panel of experts will discuss how new digital technologies and business models affect the value proposition of existing goods and services, and how companies can effectively navigate the increasingly digitised marketplace.
Please visit the LUBS website for more information and to register.
This event is free but booking is essential.
The final event is Rock around the Frock on Saturday 8 July where you are invited to the Archive to experience the glamour and rock'n'roll of the 1950s. There will be rock'n'roll dance classes, previously unseen 50s fashions, hair and make-up demos and special screenings of 1950s cinema adverts - complete with popcorn!
This event is free and there is no need to book.
