Public engagement opportunities

Applications for two public engagement opportunities, Make, Believe: Imagining the Technology of the Future and Being Human 17, are now open.

Make Believe: Kids Imagining the Tec of the Future is a free family event at the Leeds City Museum on 29 April, part of the Technology strand at the inaugural Leeds International Festival.

The aim of the event is to get kids dreaming up and inventing the tech of their future using coding, hacking, animation and storytelling skills to encourage more children to consider a STEAM led career path.

The event curators, Playful Anywhere, are offering researchers an opportunity to run an activity on the day. For more details please email the team.

Applications are also open for Being Human 17.

This year, the festival will return between 17-25 November with a new theme, ‘Lost and Found’.

Applicants are invited to respond creatively and in ways that probe the rich intellectual possibilities of the theme.  Applications need to be in by Monday 10 April.

Small grants of up to £2000 for seed funding are available from Being Human Festival. Please see the guidelines
