RMT rail strike, 13 March - guidelines for staff
Northern train services in Yorkshire may be affected by industrial action which is due to take place on Monday 13 March. The University has issued the following guidelines for colleagues.
Northern has published a revised timetable for the day. You should refer to the Northern rail website to keep up to date on services affected, making every effort to attend work. If your normal train service is affected, please make your own professional judgment on the most sensible course of action, including considering alternative ways to get to work.
If the industrial action prevents you from coming to work on Monday, please advise your school or service as soon as you are aware.
Heads of school/service should be flexible about start and finish times and staff working flexitime, making up hours at a later time, working from home or requesting annual leave. Above all, heads should be fair and flexible given individual circumstances.
