Staff Festival 2017

The theme for the Staff Festival on 30 June 2017 is World Carnivals! Staff are invited to suggest ideas for the day, as well as nominate and vote for this year's charity.

Last year’s festival raised £2036.78 for Simon on the Streets.

This is your chance to nominate a charity for 2017 which fits the following criteria:

  • It must be officially registered with a charity number and website
  • It must have no affiliation to politics or a political party
  • It can't be a charity which has already been used. These are listed below:
Simon on the Streets, Elliot’s Footprint, Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service, Groundwork Leeds, Leeds Asylum Seekers Support Network, St Georges Crypt, St Gemmas Hospice, Wheatfield Hospice, Martin House, Village to Village, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Walk4Life, The Laura Crane Trust.

  • It can't be a University charity (including LUU)
  • It must be related to this year’s theme of World Carnivals

A reason for nomination must be given, and this can't be more than 250 words. All nominations will be considered and a shortlist will be created. If your nomination is shortlisted the reason for nomination will be published.

The shortlisting panel’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

Nominations close at 5pm on Thursday 16 March 2017.

Nominations can be emailed to the Staff Festival team, or hard copy nomination forms can be found in the Staff Centre lounge – please post your completed form in the yellow post box provided.

Voting opens 21 March 2017 and closes at 5pm on 31 March 2017.
Only one vote per member of staff via email or hard copy available in the staff centre.

The winning charity will be announced on 4 April at the Staff Benefits Fair.

Staff are also invited to suggest ideas for workshops that could take place on the day. Once again they must fit in with the World Carnivals theme.

Please email any ideas to the Staff Festival team
