Supporting student education and teaching

Would you like to take part in a mentoring scheme for staff involved in student education and teaching at Leeds?

The Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence (LITE) Mentoring Scheme is inviting anyone interested in being either a mentor or mentee to get in touch.

The LITE Scheme, led by Andrea Jackson, Professor of Student Education and Engagement, will focus on three areas:

  • Teaching scholarship and pedagogy - move beyond practice sharing and report writing to more rigorous research
  • Career development in student education - get involved in student education projects and new developments around campus
  • Curriculum design and project delivery - encompassing assessment, student support and digital education

Professor Jackson says: "I realised the benefit of good mentoring and now work as a mentor to support others, a role I thoroughly enjoy.  I like to think that I’ve given something back and made a valued contribution to someone at their time of need and this scheme will help support that."

For further details of the Scheme and for details of how to be involved, see the LITE webpages.

Applications to be amongst the first cohort of mentors and mentees will close on  Wednesday 1 March.
