Mrs Dianne Jones

Colleagues will be sorry to hear of the death of Mrs Dianne Jones, former Course Administrator for the Undergraduate Paediatric Course at St James’s University Hospital.

Dianne passed away on the 15th January 2017 following a long illness. The following tribute has been put together by Dr Jonathan Darling.

Dianne worked as Course Administrator for the Undergraduate Paediatric Course at St James’s from 1999, when she was based in the Clinical Sciences Building, and retired in 2008. She was also involved in other aspects of the MBChB programme, including Year 4 examinations, and provided administrative support to the St James’s Academic Unit of Paediatrics and Child Health. Dianne always had a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude to her work, and combined this with a kind, supportive and thoughtful approach to students. She will also be remembered for her mischievous smile and sense of humour.

She will be greatly missed by her many friends and colleagues, both in the University and Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. We send our deepest sympathy and condolences to Dianne’s family at this sad time.

The Funeral service will take place at Rawdon Crematorium on Friday 10th February at 2:20pm (Leeds Road, Rawdon, Horsforth, Leeds LS19 6JP).

As a mark of respect, the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast during the funeral.
