Celebrating 10 years of the DARE Partnership
Our partnership with Opera North, DARE, celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, and a number of exciting events and offers are planned to mark this milestone.

DARE is a unique collaboration between Opera North and the University, the first partnership of its kind in the UK.
Over the last 10 years, the two organisations have worked together to create new work; conduct research; stage conferences; and offer work-based learning programmes, fellowships, and scholarships.
To celebrate the positive impact that the partnership has had on both organisations, on individual researchers and students, and on audiences, a programme of special events will be running over the next few months.
You can begin to get involved now by entering a draw for free tickets to the dress rehearsal for Rossinis comedy, Cinderella, on Tuesday 14 February. Dont miss the chance to get a privileged preview of this magical production. The draw closes on Friday 27 January: see the Eventbrite page for details of how to enter. Maximum two tickets per person.
Other anniversary events coming up include:
- DARE does film on Thursday 26 January. A talk by Sir Christopher Frayling followed by a screening of La belle et la bete
- Announcement of the first DARE Prize recipient
- The DARE Student Breakfast on Wednesday 1 March
- The DARE Liberty Lecture on Friday 24 March by Stefan Collini, author of What are Universities For?
Keep watching this website or follow @Uni?eedsStaff for further details of these and other DARE 10th Anniversary events.
Opera North will also be offering enhanced benefits and offers to staff signed up to DARE MORE. If you havent already joined DARE MORE but would be interested in enjoying events and offers from Opera North, you can sign up now.
