Leading Leeds University Union

LUU are on the lookout for their next Student Exec, and want you to consider any students who you feel would make a great academic leader.

Our Students’ Union is one of the best in the UK, having just retained their 92% NSS score and being the only Union to have achieved the NUS’s excellent quality status. Six elected officers run the Union and represent the interests of Leeds students. These Officers become trustees and play a huge and important role in ensuring that the Union continues to grow, develop and put students’ needs first.

With over 320 clubs and societies the Union provides a huge range of co-curricular activity for students to develop their skills, ambitions, interests and networks. Research shows that students who engage with societies are more likely to be happy with their physical and mental health as well as being happier with their social life and circle.

The Union also provides vital support and representation services to students to ensure that their issues do not get on top of them and that they have representation across campus, the Union and the city.

The Exec lead in all of these areas and every year the new Exec bring a new set of great ideas about how the Union can deliver even more of what students need.

Anybody in the University can nominate a student to run in the Leadership Race and the Union want academics and University staff to consider any students who they feel would make a great student leader.

Any student with tenacity, passion and great ideas could become a great Exec Officer.

If you have somebody in mind, you can nominate them at the LUU Leadership Race webpage before 27 January.
