Bike Safety

£15 offer to help keep you and your bike safe!

Come and visit the Security Services marquee on 24/25/26 October and get a solid D lock, cycle registered and marked and receive front and rear lights for your bike all for just £15.  The marquee will be located on the main University precinct (opposite the Refectory) and will be available from 8am-10am and 2pm-4.30pm.

Malcolm Dawson, Acting Head of Security, said: “This campaign is aimed at improving cycle safety and security across campus. Staff are encouraged to visit our Security Services and West Yorkshire Police staff and purchase one of these packages which are amazing value. A good solid D. Lock makes it much harder for thieves to steal cycles and they usually go for bikes that are not secured properly or those with flimsy locks. Unfortunately accidents occur with cyclists often riding with no lights during darkness and front and rear lights will be supplied in the package.

"It's also prudent to register your cycle; should it be stolen it can then be easily identified and returned to its rightful owner."
