Diana Joyce

Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on 16 September 2016, of Diana Joyce, Personal Assistant in the Librarian’s Office, after a period of illness.

Diana joined the Library in March 1990, working as a Library Clerk at the Brotherton Library, before moving to the Library Office Team in 1996.  She was PA to Deputy Librarians for many years, firstly Roger Davis, then Brian Clifford.  She will also be known to colleagues within and outside the University having serviced some of the Library’s main committees, such as the Holden Committee, the Brotherton Collection Advisory Committee, and the Scholarly Communications Steering Group.  Diana was an extremely popular colleague, and her kindness and sense of humour will be much missed by all who worked with her.

The funeral will take place at 3.40pm on Thursday 29 September at Lawnswood Crematorium, Otley Road, Leeds LS16 8AA.  Diana nominated the NSPCC as a charity for donations rather than flowers – colleagues are welcome to take donations to the Library Office who will organise a single payment on the Library and University’s behalf.

The flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast on 29 September.
