Pay Increase

In line with guidance from the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA), the University is making arrangements to implement the pay element of this year’s national negotiations.

This will be backdated to 1st August 2016.  The increase is 1.1% on points 8 and above on the pay spine, and a larger % on lower points.  See the HR website for details of the new salary scale.

Staff paid at the month end will receive their revised salary and resulting arrears in their September salary, with those paid mid-month receiving it with their October pay.

Whilst we recognise that the trades unions continue to campaign as part of this year’s negotiations, we feel staff should not be subject to any further delay in receiving their pay increase and arrears.
