Wilbye Belfield
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on 26 June 2016, of Wilbye Belfield, former Warden of Devonshire Hall between 1963 and 1983.
Wilbye was also an Honorary part-time Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Zoology.
The funeral service will be held on Friday 15 July 2016 for family members only, but a ‘Celebration’ of Wilbye’s life will be held later that day at 2.30pm at St. Mary’s Church, Kirkgate, Thirsk, YO7 1PR, followed by a reception at the Golden Fleece in Thirsk town centre.
The family have indicated that there should be no flowers, but donations will be given to the charity Chance to Shine, as cricket was a passion of Wilbye’s.
The flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast on the afternoon of the funeral.
