A University Technical College is a school for 14 to 18-year-olds specialising in science, technology, engineering and maths.

The first Leeds UTC, focusing on engineering and advanced manufacturing skills and backed by the University along with Leeds City Council and local employers including Siemens, Kodak, Unilever and Agfa, is due to open its doors in September 2016.  You can read more about it on the UTC Leeds website and about the University's involvement with it on this website.

The University is also now working with Leeds City Council, Leeds Beckett University, and employers including CDiYorkshire, FDM Group, Jaywing and Platinum Print, on a proposal for a second UTC in the Leeds Region, focusing on creative digital skills.  You can read more about this proposal on the Creative Digital UTC website.

If you are a parent or carer in the Leeds region, your views on the proposal would be extremely valuable.  Please take a look at the information available on the website and then complete a short online survey.
