Senior pay

In the interests of transparency, the most recent report to the Council on senior pay has been made available for staff.

The key points to note are as follows:

  • UEG pay is determined by a sub-committee of Council – no one from UEG is a member of this Committee
  • Excluding promotions (and professorial rezoning), the average salary increase for (a) UEG members and (b) all staff in the University are in line with one another
  • The average salary increase for UEG members was made up of a number of different awards: one member of UEG waived an increase, most received just the 1% national pay award, and a few members received the 1% plus an additional amount to recognise increased leadership responsibilities.  (The Council paper also covers two cases of professorial rezoning in recognition of academic achievements.)
