In the interests of transparency, the most recent report to the Council on senior pay has been made available for staff.
The key points to note are as follows:
- UEG pay is determined by a sub-committee of Council no one from UEG is a member of this Committee
- Excluding promotions (and professorial rezoning), the average salary increase for (a) UEG members and (b) all staff in the University are in line with one another
- The average salary increase for UEG members was made up of a number of different awards: one member of UEG waived an increase, most received just the 1% national pay award, and a few members received the 1% plus an additional amount to recognise increased leadership responsibilities. (The Council paper also covers two cases of professorial rezoning in recognition of academic achievements.)
