Will Murray
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the sudden death, on 8 June 2016, of Will Murray, a member of the Court since 2004.
Will was a member of the University Council from 2000 to 2008; during this period the Council itself and a range of committees – in particular the Audit and Risk Committee – benefited from his conscientious attention to detail, his insight and his empathetic humanity. He was appointed as a Trustee of the University of Leeds Pension and Assurance Scheme in October 2004, and enjoyed many a lively debate at Trustees’ meetings.
The funeral service will be held at 10.20am on Tuesday 28 June at Lawnswood Crematorium, Otley Road, Adel, Leeds LS16 8AA, followed by a celebration at Weetwood Hall Hotel (Lawnswood Room).
The family have requested no flowers but are setting up a JustGiving fundraising page for the many charities Will supported, or worked for, and there will be a collection on the day.

The flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast on Tuesday 28 June in Will’s memory.
