Please bring your entries to the Refectory between 8am and 12pm on the day of the Festival (Friday 8 July), clearly marked with your name and contact details.
Judging will take place in the Refectory at 2pm on the day and will be led by GFALs award-winning chef Simon Wood and guest judges.
Speaking about how the entries will be judged, Simon Wood said: There will different criteria for each type of entry. For the tarts, the quality of the pastry will be key as well as the flavour, appearance and seasoning. With the cakes, their lightness, taste and proportion of filling to sponge are important factors. It would be good to see some innovative thinking and entry presentations that stand out. For example, its always nice to see the classic scones, but a bit of imagination goes a long way too.
The overall Great University Bake Off winner will win the star prize of Afternoon Tea for two at Harvey Nichols.
Category winners will receive a Fairtrade and local food and drink Hamper.
