Emeritus Professor Andrew (Aggie) Booth

Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the death, on 6 June 2016, of Emeritus Professor Andrew Booth, former Professor of Online Learning in the Research School and Faculty of Biological Sciences.

A graduate of the University (BSc, 1972 and PhD, 1975), Aggie held a three-year appointment as an MRC-funded post-doctoral Research Fellow before being appointed as Temporary Lecturer in 1978 and then as Lecturer in 1979 within the Department of Biochemistry. In 1987 he was promoted to Senior Lecturer and then, in 2002, he was appointed to a Developmental Chair in Online Learning. Aggie retired from the University in 2010.

The funeral service will be held at 1.00pm on Tuesday 21 June at Stonewall Crematorium, Wetherby Road, Harrogate, HG3 1DE, and afterwards for refreshments at the Travellers Rest, Crimple Lane, Harrogate, HG3 1DF.

The flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast on 21 June in Aggie’s memory.
