The show, written and performed by Joe Sellman-Leava, chronicles his upbringing in rural Devon as a boy of mixed-heritage growing up in the 90s. Labels examines the way we use words, the line between curiosity and fear, and the rise of anti-immigration rhetoric.  Expect humour, honesty and romance in this story from multicultural Britain.

The show has received great critical acclaim:

"Terrific and really thoughtful" - Lyn Gardner, The Guardian
"Powerful, important and funny" - Emma Thompson
"Enlightening and touching" - Broadway Baby
"A gentle firestorm of a play" - British Theatre guide
"Simply magnificent" - Ed Fringe review
"Polished, personal and provocative" - the Scotsman

and has won awards following its Australian tour and long runs in London and Plymouth.

It is visiting stage@leeds for one night only - Thursday 12 May, 7.30pm.

You can buy tickets online: £9.50 or £6.50 for concessions.
