Spring into Summer with the Lifelong Learning Centre

The Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) welcomes you to their sixth annual programme of learning-for-pleasure courses and events.

Spring into summer

There are a wide variety of subject areas to choose from including creative writing, current affairs, film, literature, language, culture and more. Courses and events are aimed at adults of any age who are keen to widen their interests, develop their creativity and increase their knowledge.

Courses will start on campus from Monday 6 June and run for four to six weeks. The six-week courses cost £40 at the full fee, with a concessionary fee for those receiving a means-tested benefit available of £20. Our four-week courses cost £34 at the full fee, with a concessionary fee available of £17. We are also offering a one-day workshop on short stories, which costs £17 at the full fee with a concessionary fee available of £8.50.

Don’t forget that all staff on grades 2 to 4 can apply for funding for the fee-paying courses and workshops through the ‘Learning for Life’ scheme.

In addition to the fee-paying courses the LLC will be working with expert staff from the University to offer some free events on a diverse selection of topics ranging from the First and Second World Wars, Brexit, the success (and failure) of political leaders and Canada’s National Aboriginal Day on 21 June.

Spring into Summer is part of the public engagement work undertaken by the LLC, feel free to pass the information on to friends, family and any wider networks which you are a part of.

Registration opens on Monday 18 April. Places are limited so early booking is advised.
