Jim has over 30 years’ experience working in IT, including most recently holding Chief Information Officer roles at Aviva Life UK and before that at the Co-operative Banking Group.  He has successfully led major IT change programmes that have delivered positive impact for the organisations and the IT teams he has worked with.

Jim will be responsible for ensuring that IT delivery meets the University’s needs, working in partnership with academic and service colleagues to support delivery of our strategic ambitions.

There will be an overlap between Jim and Geoff Kendall Smith, Interim Director of IT, which will provide us with an effective transition and handover period.

Jane Madeley, Finance Director, says: “I am delighted to welcome Jim to the University and am confident that he will make a significant impact in leading the delivery of an integrated, agile, customer-focused and enabling IT service.”
