Leeds to New York Student Leadership programme

Our alumni and leadership development organisation, Common Purpose, will deliver an exciting and innovative opportunity for Leeds students.

Leeds to new york

This seven-day programme is an opportunity to examine the concept of ‘smart cities’ in Leeds and New York. Supported by the Footsteps Fund, this will be an exciting opportunity for students to work with representatives of the City of Leeds and our US alumni in New York on a topic with global relevance.

This programme is open to all Leeds students and 15 successful candidates will go to New York in June 2016 (flights and accommodation included).

Students will have to complete an online registration form and prepare an innovative video showing why they should be selected onto the programme.

Professor Vivien Jones, Pro Vice Chancellor (Student Education) said: “I am delighted to see the launch of this exciting new opportunity for our students to develop their leadership skills, and to be working in partnership with our alumni and representatives of the City of Leeds.”

Do you know any students who may be interested in this opportunity? If so, please remind them that the closing date for applications and video submissions is Friday 8 April 2016.

Students can find more information about the programme and the application process on the Leeds to New York webpages.
