University welcomes Chief Medical Officer
Professor Dame Sally Davies, Chief Medical Officer for England, paid a recent visit to the University and met with members of the senior team, academics and students.
During her time on campus, Dame Sally was introduced to some of our University Academic Fellows and attended a lunch hosted by Sir Alan Langlands, our Vice-Chancellor. She also saw a number of presentations from Academic-NHS Research Partnerships, including the Leeds Academic Health Partnership, the MRC Centre for Medical Bioinformatics part of the Leeds Institute of Data Analytics and the Leeds Biomedical Research Centre.
Later in the day, a packed audience heard Dame Sally talk frankly about her role and the future challenges and priorities posed by the public health agenda.Posted in: University news
