Call for Bright Club volunteers

Bright Club, the thinking person’s variety night, comes to Leeds.

It takes the format of three to four researchers talking about their area of research or knowledge in a way that’s funny and engaging for people who don’t necessarily have a technical or academic background. There will be a compère there to warm up the crowd, so they’ll already be receptive to jokes when it’s the researchers turn.

The first event will be at the Fenton on Monday 7 December, with training sessions planned for mid-November.

Performing at this night can be a great way to improve your public speaking, encourage public engagement with your area of research and give you more confidence around speaking in front of large audiences and to the media.

If you are interested in performing, please email Rachael Fox.
