Funeral notices
Colleagues will be sorry to learn of the recent deaths of the following former members of staff.
Ian D Rattee, OBE, BSc, CChem, FRSC
Professor Ian Rattee, former Head of the Department of Colour Chemistry and Dyeing between 1963 and 1985, died on 15 May 2015.
The funeral service will be held at 2.00pm on Monday 1 June at St Peter's Church, Cambridge Road, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG1 1RW, followed by a private burial, and afterwards at Rudding Park Hotel, Follifoot, Harrogate, HG3 1JH. As a mark of respect, the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast.
Mrs Sue Hudson
Mrs Sue Hudson, former member of staff in the University Library between 2005 and 2011, died on 17 May 2015.
The funeral service will take place at 1.40pm on Wednesday 3 June at Rawdon Crematorium LS19 6JP, followed by a gathering at Peasehill Hotel, Rawdon LS19 6HJ, on which day the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast.
Wilfred N Townsend, BSc
Wilfred Norman Townsend, former Senior Lecturer in Agricultural Chemistry, died on 28 April 2015. Mr Townsend retired from the University in 1979 after forty seven years’ service.
A memorial service will be held at 4.15pm on Monday 15 June in the Chapel in the Emmanuel Centre, with a buffet after the service in the Wilson Room, at which time the flag on the Parkinson Building will be flown at half-mast.
