The Tour will run from 1-3 May, starting in Bridlington, through to Selby and York, and making its way from Wakefield to Leeds on the final day. Thousands of amateur cyclists have the chance to take part in the Tour de Yorkshire Ride which is set to take place before the final pro race on Sunday 3 May.

UTravelActive (UTA) will host and organise events and competitions to celebrate the race coming to Yorkshire, a year after the highly successful Grand Depart.

Electric Bike try-out day, Wednesday 22 April, 11am-2pm: The Edinburgh Cycle Cooperative will be outside the Roger Stevens Building with a set of power assisted bikes for staff to test ride. There will be step-through and cross-bar frames and other models. The bikes are available to buy on the staff salary sacrifice scheme. Please note: Staff ID is required at this event.

UTA Information Stall, Wednesday 29 April, 12-2pm: Visit a UTA stall outside Leeds University Union to find out about their offers, including free bike loans to staff, free cycling training, maintenance classes and route advice.

UTA are also holding a competition to celebrate the Tour. Guess the winning rider's time in minutes and seconds as they cross the finish line at Roundhay Park correctly and you could win prizes including Sustrans shopping vouchers, D locks, lights and water bottles. To take a guess, or for any more information on the Tour or the UTA events, contact UTravelActive.
