Windows XP

IT has issued the following important update regarding University computers and the Windows XP operating system.

Microsoft is no longer supporting the Windows XP operating system, and is not releasing security updates for it. Most University PCs have already been upgraded to Windows 7, and most PCs which can't be upgraded have been put on private networks.

However if your PC hasn't been upgraded or dealt with by your local IT support, you need to take action now - contact your local IT support for advice.

Any Windows XP machine which is attached to the University's network and considered to be an immediate threat will now be blocked. From January 2015 all Windows XP machines will be blocked from connecting to the University network.
