Praise for Leeds' educational innovation

Two online resources developed at Leeds have been highly commended by the judges of the 2014 MEDEA Awards, which recognise innovation and good practice in using audio, video, and graphics in eduation.

Innovation: the key to business success, a MOOC developed by the University in partnership with Marks and Spencer, and the Faculty of Biological Sciences’ Plant Science TREE both impressed the 112 judges of the Europe-wide awards.

Innovation: the key to business success examined important developments in the fresh food supply chain and in machine-washable fabrics and used case studies from the University as well as from Marks and Spencer to give learners an insight into developing creative ideas and leading research into commercial success.

The Plant Science TREE, which has been designed to grab the interest of undergraduates entering biological science courses, provides a central repository bringing together online research lectures and other contributions from plant science academics across the world in an easily accessible and browsable online format.
