Open day places at Bright Beginnings

As with recent weekend open days, Bright Beginnings will be open for the next one on Saturday 11 October. Any member of staff who is on duty that day can book places for children up to the age of 12.

Depending on when you need to be available that day, you'll be able to book a full day or shorter slot.  Again, the University will be funding this so there'll be no charge.

The Centre has play equipment for all age groups.  Baby and toddler rooms are downstairs while older children can enjoy the upstairs facilities used by playscheme children during school holidays including computers, table tennis, a pool table and games consoles.  In addition, outdoors there are covered balcony areas and gardens. Whether inside or out, the staff will offer a range of activities including creative play, face painting and games.  All meals and drinks will be provided by the onsite chef.

To book a place for your child or children, please print and complete the Bright Beginnings booking form.  The form must be signed by your department head or manager.

Depending on when you need to be available that day for open day duties, you will be able to book a full day or shorter slot.  Bookings will need to be made by Wednesday 1 October.

Bright Beginnings Childcare Centre, the childcare provider for staff and students at the University, was awarded the title of Nursery of the Year for the North of England by the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) in its 2013 Nursery Awards. A record number of parents voted in the awards, which were co-judged by the parenting website Netmums. Angela Foley, General Manager, was named as an NDNA Member Champion in recognition of her passionate and committed voluntary support of the NDNA and its e-Quality Counts scheme.
