Fire and Rescue Service Strike Action
The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has announced its intention to carry out industrial action over the course of the month.

The strikes will take place during the following periods;
Thursday 10 July 2014 starting at 10am until 7pm.
In addition - Firefighters in England and Wales will also strike on eight consecutive days this month.
These strikes will take place:
Monday 14 July: 6am8am and 5pm7pm
Tuesday 15 July: 6am8am and 5pm7pm
Wednesday 16 July: 6am8am and 5pm7pm
Thursday 17 July: 6am8am and 5pm7pm
Friday 18 July: 6am8am and 11pm1am on Saturday 19 July
Saturday 19 July: 11am1pm and 11pm1am on Sunday 20 July
Sunday 20 July: 5pm7pm
Monday 21 July: 6am8am and 5pm7pm
Wednesday 16 July: 6am8am and 5pm7pm
Thursday 17 July: 6am8am and 5pm7pm
Friday 18 July: 6am8am and 11pm1am on Saturday 19 July
Saturday 19 July: 11am1pm and 11pm1am on Sunday 20 July
Sunday 20 July: 5pm7pm
Monday 21 July: 6am8am and 5pm7pm
WYFRS will continue to provide emergency fire and rescue cover during any strike though the level of response may be more limited than at other times. The emergency crews attending may have fewer specialist skills and may not be familiar with the incident site or local geography.
Therefore, colleagues are requested to be extra vigilant during this and any subsequent period of industrial action, in addition to continuing to follow normal procedures. As ever, our focus is on prevention rather than reaction.
