Engaging Alumni at M&S
The Alumni and Development Office has teamed up with staff from M&S to create an event for Leeds alumni now working for M&S.
Attendees at the event, held at the M&S Head Office were given the chance to network with other Leeds alumni and hear from Phil Steel, Head of Alumni Relations, as well as senior ambassadors for the partnership from both the university and M&S, including:
- Martin Holmes, Marketing Director
- M&S Company Secretary, Amanda Mellor
- M&S Head of Company Archive and University of Leeds Partnership, Alison Houston.
We were delighted to be able to update an audience with an interest in both sides of the partnership with what we have been doing this year and to hear their thoughts and feedback. The discussion was a great example of how the partnership can inform best practice and ways of working from both industry and academic perspectives and the contacts made at the event will help us to continue to do this.
The event also allowed us to sign some new people up to the alumni database, gather additional support for the Leeds Network, raise awareness of how alumni can continue to interact with Leeds through the partnership and alumni team (and to give away some snazzy University of Leeds pin badges to be worn around M&S with pride!).
