School of Modern Languages and Department of Classics

The School of Modern Languages and Cultures (SMLC) will be changing its name to the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies (LCS) from 1 August 2014.

The School of Languages, Cultures and Societies will, from the same date, incorporate the former Department of Classics, and any queries relating to Classics should henceforth be directed via the relevant LCS office.

Please note also that, within the School, Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES) will be changing its name to Arabic, Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies (AIMES) and the Foreign Language Teaching Unit (FLTU) will henceforth be known as Languages for All (L4A).

If you require any further information about any of these changes, please contact the School’s Communications Officer, Becky Wilding.
