Light Night Leeds are pleased to announce that the 10th Light Night Leeds will take place on Friday 3 October 2014.

Light Night is an annual multi-art form festival programmed over one night at numerous indoor and outdoor venues across Leeds city centre. Light Night celebrates the diversity of art and creativity happening across the city, and the team are currently on the lookout for exciting new work to showcase in the 2014 festival.

Established artists and arts organisations are invited to submit their proposals for projects to be part of the programme. We are looking for high quality, visually engaging work across all art forms including light projections and installations, sculpture, visual arts, music, theatre, dance and street entertainment. Artists can choose to respond to the city in their work in terms of its history, stories, people and buildings, or imagine Leeds in the future. We are especially interested in interactive or participatory work, and events or activities which are accessible to families.

Light Night will commission up to 30 pieces of new work, and each successful artist will receive a bursary of £500 plus up to £300 for materials. As part of the new SHINE programme (subject to ACE funding), Light Night will also select up to 10 emerging artists who will be eligible for additional support, training and mentoring. They will receive a bursary of £350 and up to £300 material costs.

So, if you have a bright idea for a Light Night project they want to hear from you! The deadline for applications is Tuesday 1 July 2014.
