HEFCE announces 2014/15 funding allocations

HEFCE has announced that it will allocate £3.88 billion to universities and colleges in England for 2014/15: £1,582 million for teaching and £1,558 million for research.

Funding is to be allocated to the following key areas and activities:

  • £1.6 billion for research
  • £160 million for knowledge exchange
  • £1.6 billion for teaching
  • £440 million for capital grants
  • £143 million for national facilities and initiatives
