Date announced for Leeds trolleybus public inquiry

A date for the start of the public inquiry into the planned New Generation Transport (NGT) trolleybus system and the name of the inspector who will conduct the inquiry have been announced.

The public inquiry will open on Tuesday 29 April at the Regus Office, Wellington Place in Leeds and is expected to run for two months.  Mr M J Whitehead LLB BSC CENG MICE has been appointed by the Secretary of State as Inspector for the inquiry.

Ahead of the Inquiry, Mr Whitehead will hold a pre-inquiry meeting to discuss the practical arrangements for the inquiry, to set an inquiry programme and to clarify the scope of the inquiry.  This meeting will take place at the Leeds Metropole Hotel at 10am on Tuesday 4 March and is open to anyone who intends to present evidence to, or be represented at, the Inquiry. Everyone who has submitted a document of support or objection to the scheme will be sent a letter informing them of this meeting.
