Martin Bean's SEC3 keynote speech available online
The opening keynote address of the Third Annual Student Education Conference is now available to view online.
The keynote speech was delivered by Martin Bean, Vice-Chancellor of the Open University and founder of FutureLearn, the platform through which our MOOCs are made available. It provided an inspiring start to SEC3. The speech is available to view online.
The theme of the day was engagement, and Martin looked at all the ways in which universities can now engage with far wider audiences thanks to resources like MOOCs. He also discussed how HEIs can use technology to help make the most of contact time with students, and how we must not be afraid of innovation – namely because it’s here already!
SEC3 took place on Friday 10 January 2014 and a full review of the day will be featured in Issue 10 of the Student Education Bulletin, which will be published at the end of February. SEB10 will also be available on the Student Education Service website.
