Fathers needed to help with research

Dr Laura King, historian at the University of Leeds, is researching male experiences of family life from the 1950s to the present day and is looking for fathers to interview.

The research project, entitled ‘Men, masculinity and maternity in Britain, from the 1950s to the present’, will investigate men’s involvement, or otherwise, in their wives’ or partners’ pregnancies, in childbirth itself, and in early infant care of children.

Were you there when your child was born? Why/why not? Did you do the nappy-changing? How have ideas changed since you became a parent?

As part of this project Laura will be interviewing men of all ages on their experiences of becoming a parent from the 1950s to the present day. Whether you’re a great-grandfather or a brand new dad, she'd like to hear from you.

Please get in contact by email, phone or post (details below) to take part in one or two short interviews.
