Seamus Heaney
The University mourns the death, on 30 August 2013, of Seamus Heaney, distinguished poet, translator and critical essayist, who was awarded the 2005 Nobel Prize for Literature.
An Honorary Graduate of Leeds (DLitt, 2001), Seamus Heaney gave a memorable poetry reading to a capacity audience in the conference auditorium in January 2002.
